Ayurveda
The term 'Ayurveda' has been taken from the two words-Ayus and Veda. The former means "life", while the letter means "science". Thus it is a science of life that deals with different kinds of diseases and problems. For the diagnosis of a patient Ayurveda uses five elements that include earth, air, water and light. Ayurveda is considered to be one of the oldest medical solutions to cure diseases and promote health. According to historians, it was developed in India almost 5000 years ago.
The Ayurvedic system is based on the ancient wisdom of sages and self learned doctors. It is believed that it is a gift of God confided by Charaka and Shushruta. Ayurvdic medicines are composed of herbs, fruits, vegetables, water and other natural sources. These days they are commonly used to cure diseases such as stress, depression, sexual weakness, diabetics, arthritis, sleep disorder, skin problems and more. Today the market is full of a large variety of Ayurvedic products and you can easily find the products of various national and international brands.
Ayurveda suggests three steps to have a health and wealthy life. The first is the daily and seasonal routine. It ensures that the needs of the body are satisfied. A health routine in life establishes moderation in the body and mind to help you flow in the most appropriate direction. The second is diet and digestion. Taking food and its digestion in the body is a must to have good health. Thirdly Ayurveda suggests physical and mental hygiene without which you cannot live a healthy life.
