Diabetes
The word 'diabetes' is used to describe a condition in which the body does not respond to insulin, a hormone that is produced in the pancreas. The common problem in diabetes is that the body does not make enough insulin that causes the glucose to absorb in the blood. When the glucose is accumulated in the blood, it leads to various problems in the body. There are various types of diabetes. Some of the common types may be described as:
- Type 1:This is one of the common types of diabetes, which is the result of the body's failure to produce insulin.
- Type2: This is a condition in which the cells are not able to use the insulin properly. This is very common among American people.
- Gestational diabetes: This is common among pregnant women. Those women who have high blood sugar levels during their pregnancy are said to be the victim of this type of diabetes.
The problems and complications that can be the result of diabetes are ketoacidosis, hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia and so on. The long-term problems that may be caused by diabetes include heart disease, kidney disease, neuthrophy and some other diseases. Hence those who suffer from diabetes need to be aware of the signs and symptoms so that they can easily recognize what type of diabetes they have. Generally speaking, the shortage of insulin in our body is the chief reason for the diabetes. Today there are lots of treatments for this serious problem.
