Clock and watches
Clock and watches refers to the instruments that used to maintain time. Since time management plays a key role in the success of almost everything, therefore we require having clocks and watches with us. They are used in each and every country now, as they are indispensable in our lives.
The term 'clock' has been derived from the Latin words clagan and clocca meaning "bell". It is said that for horologists and other specialists, it has been a device for announcing the interval, by ringing a bell or set of chimes. This device is also known as a timepiece in different parts of the world. The history of clock is quiet ancient as it is one of the oldest human inventions. In the earlier times people used to measure time with a 'sundial', which was a device to measure the local solar time with reasonable accuracy. The downside of this instrument was that it did not work during the night, as it required the sun to shine. Among other old timepieces was the 'water clock'. It was used in places like China, Egypt, India and some other countries.
Today the market of clocks and watches has become very large and we can find a wide range of modern clocks in the market, which are made of the latest components to ensure good quality. To promote clocks and watches, there are trade fairs that bring international brands of clocks and watches to people. The modern timepieces are meant for more than just measuring time, they are more of a social status and fashion statement for individuals.
