Electrical and Electronics
Electrical and electronics are related terms and very often, they are used interchangeably. Generally speaking electronics is a branch of science and technology that is associated with the flow of electrons through non-metallic conductors and semi-conductors. The ways and techniques that are used to design and construct the electronic circuits to solve the practical problems usually fall under the category of electronic engineering. In earlier times, the field of electronics was called radio technology as it used the design and theory of transmitters, receivers and vacuum tubes.
On the other hand, the word "electrical" is used for science and technology that deals with the flow of electrons through metal conductors as well. The field of electrical has become very broad now and it covers a wide range of subtopics such as electronics, control systems, signal processing and telecommunications. It can therefore be said that there is a slight difference between electrical and electronics but both are incomplete without each other
The common examples of electrical may be a radio receiver, amplifier, capacitor, resistors, transistors and more. On the other hand television and computer that make use of the electronic components such as silicon chips are examples of electronics. Today, the electrical and electronics industry is very vast and it caters to different categories of products such as audio-video, mobile phones and accessories, connectors, telecommunications, cooling equipments, micro switches and lots of other categories in electrical and electronics.
